If You Don't Want to Create It . . . Don't Focus On It!

Do you ever catch yourself focusing on something that you definitely don't want to create more of in your life? Even worse, do you focus on these negative things with a lot of strong, negative emotion?

We all do it. Sometimes it seems impossible to avoid it - especially when some of these things are just so annoying/frustrating/exhausting/exasperating...constantly popping up in your face and grabbing your attention.
The problem is, if you don't stop doing that - if you don't stop focusing on things that annoy or upset you, you will continue to attract more of them. Whatever you are ALIGNED with is what you will keep ATTRACTING into your life.

Being "aligned" with something means your thoughts and feelings are vibrating on the same energetic frequency as it is. You can only allow situations that are in alignment with what you are thinking and feeling. If you are aligned with financial problems, that's all you can see. If you are aligned with abundance and financial ease, that's all you can see.

So obviously, it's worthwhile to deliberately align your thoughts and feelings with the abundance you seek - but how?
First, stop focusing on the stuff that annoys you or bothers you in any way. Obviously, you'll be focused on it in the moment it first comes up - that's okay, but then remove your focus from it as soon as you realize, "Whoops, this is not something I want to create more of".

Turn your attention elsewhere. Focus on something that makes you feel good. Tell yourself funny "knock-knock" jokes. Listen to uplifting music. Think about someone you love. Affirm that your finances are getting better by the minute. Imagine how great it will be when you have much more money, the things you will buy and do, the fun you will have, etc.

It doesn't matter how you do it, but your number one goal is to find a way to feel better, either about the subject that was just bothering you, OR by moving your attention to another subject altogether.

It seems really hard to do this at first - by sheer habit your mind WANTS to keep following those same old negative patterns. But if you persist in redirecting it consistently to better thoughts, it will eventually get the message and follow along much more easily. Eventually, it becomes second nature, and  - a new, healthy, positive thought habit is born. :-)

I have the power to CHOOSE what I focus on!!!!!!
